My worldly photography and motion portfolio highlights my enthusiasm for food, drink, travel, product, and people, and showcases my ability to work in a diverse array of settings. My professional yet easygoing nature puts subjects at ease, and my flexibility and problem-solving skills allow the clients to get exactly what they’re looking for. To me, photography is about relating one-on-one with subjects and working with other creatives to produce inspiring images. It’s as much about the process as it is about the final result.
Who I Am
I was born in Okinawa, Japan while my dad was stationed there, then moved to the St. Louis region when I was three years old. While working as a baker after high school I picked up a camera and discovered my true passion. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Photography from the School of Communications at Webster University where I received hands-on training in the dark room, in the studio, at the computer, and behind the camera. Although I shoot almost entirely in digital formats, my formal training in black & white and color film photography—from shooting to developing negatives to printing with chemicals—gives me an unique perspective and in-depth understanding of the techniques, settings, and conventions used in the art form. In my spare time I’m an avid cyclist, outdoorsman, and cook, and love spending time with my wife and two kids.
